Work
Experience Program
The Student Transitional Education Program, STEP, is a school vocational education program, which provides High School Students with disabilities the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a variety of job settings. It is intended to assist students in making career decisions, learn appropriate work habits, values, and to acquire new work skills.
Students are placed at a variety of local business and organization
establishments throughout the school year. Each work site emphasizes one or more different career opportunities. Students select career areas, which interest them the most. School and agency staff help match the student to an appropriate vocational opportunity based on the student's interests.
