Schoharie County ARC Awarded 2004 Member Agency of the Year by New York State Industries for the Disabled (NYSID)

Schoharie County ARC was named 2004 Member Agency of the Year by the New York State Industries for the Disabled (NYSID) at NYSID’s Annual Meeting on September 20th at the Desmond Hotel and Conference Center in Albany.

NYSID chairman Tim Gielselman and NYSID’s CEO Larry Barker honored the Schoharie County ARC’s production center team at Toe Path Industries, for their outstanding performance in providing quality products and services to the State of New York and other local government purchasers through NYSID’s Preferred Source Partnership, at the organization’s Annual Meeting.

Toe Path Industries (TPI) has been manufacturing, packaging and delivering NYSID state approved commodities since 1985. Using high quality reflective materials; decal striping and identification marking kits from TPI, identify official cars, trucks, and emergency vehicles of State, Parks, City, and Local Law enforcement and emergency response agencies across NYS- including the New York State Division of State Police.

Included amongst the celebratory commentary for the evening was a statement issued by Emery Dergosits, Fleet Administrator for the New York State Division of State Police commending the Schoharie County ARC and Toe Path Industries for their quality of work in meeting the vehicle markings requirements of the NY State Police. This preferred source contract is fulfilled by individuals gainfully employed at the Route 30 Schoharie Production Center.

“The quality of workmanship, turn around time and distribution to our troops
throughout the state [is] outstanding. They [your employees] are the reason why
our vehicles display the vision of professionalism that distinguishes us as a
leading law enforcement agency.”

Also noted amongst the NYSID preferred source contracts successfully fulfilled by the employees of Toe Path Industries were the custodial floor maintenance and utility pads supplied to New York State Office of General Services (OGS), New York State Department of Corrections, the New York State Housing Authority, New York City Department of Citywide Administration, and other municipalities and schools statewide, a contract that the agency has maintained for many years.

In 2003, TPI partnered with a leading manufacturer of Computer and Office Equipment Cleaning Products to offer a line of high quality, cost effective products to keep computer and electronic equipment running at peak efficiency. In the following year, TPI also became the state-approved source for a full selection of state use Alkaline Batteries.

“By enhancing their preferred source product selections and maintaining the highest customer satisfaction standards, Schoharie County ARC’s production workers delivered 6,000 hours of work on NYSID products in the Fiscal Year of 2004,” said NYSID in a promotional piece acknowledging TPI’s recognition as Member Agency of the Year.

Toe Path Industries employee Derek Aldrich was named Schoharie County ARC’s NYSID Employee of the Year at the meeting. Currently, Aldrich is an instrumental force in die cutting raw materials for the floor maintenance pads and the NYS Police Vehicle making contracts, and consistently performs at 80% productivity, making him the number one producer at TPI.

Matthew Rollins, another Toe Path Industries employee, received a William B. Joslin Outstanding Performance Award and a $250 monetary award as part of this recognition. Rollins is a competent and valuable employee at TPI working on several contracts including the state police decals.

Toe Path Industries will hold a special ceremony recognizing the achievements of Aldrich, Rollins and the other key employees of Toe Path Industries at an open house on October 19th at the Schoharie County ARC campus.
