The Schoharie County ARC Foundation Board

The Foundation Board was established in 1993. The specific purpose of this Board is
  1. "To raise funds and provide a continual financial source for the benefit of individuals with disabilities, including mental retardation and developmental disabilities, by donating and contributing monies and assets which will be solicited from both private and public sources, to the Schoharie County Chapter of NYSARC, Inc."

    2) "To promote the work and causes of the Schoharie County ARC through activities which will make the public more aware of the services available, the goals and the achievements of the Schoharie County ARC. These activities will include, but are not limited to seminars, publications, addresses, press releases and social and fundraising events."

    3) "To engage in any and all activities consistent with or in furtherance of the above purposes."

Simply put, it is the goal of the Foundation to solicit funds for the Schoharie County ARC to ensure a quality and fulfilling future for our participants. It is also the responsibility of the Foundation to promote the Schoharie ARC in a positive light as a valuable and vital part of our community.

The Foundation will, on occasion, support individualized consumer needs when no other source of funding is available. Disbursements are evaluated and made on a case by case basis.

In addition, each year the Foundation awards scholarships to local High School Senior pursuing a career in the field of Human Services.
